Dear Parents,

We are in the final stages of high school coarse requests. Please read the following notes below:

School Choice:
- If your student has been accepted to Innovation Academy (IA), they do not need to turn in their blue form at this time. IA will work with us on course requests as we get closer to May.
-  If your student is going to another Fulton County School and is already marked as going (per COSA or districting), they do not need to turn in a blue form.
-  If your student is going to another school due to a move but is still assigned to JCHS, please have them turn in their blue form with course requests for JCHS.

Common Questions:
-  My student is taking government which is a semester class. What do they take the other semester?  We recommend students take health as the alternate semester course for government. If your student is taking AP government, they may want to take health over the summer as AP government is a full year course.

-  My student wants to take health (or another course) over the summer. What do we do? Please complete the online summer contract and turn it in to the homeroom teacher.

-  My student is planning to take a virtual class next year (ASL, Chinese, or other course not offered at JCHS). Do we do anything other than list the FVS course on the blue form? Yes, please complete the online academic year contract and turn it in to the homeroom teacher. (Yes, the date is wrong on this contract, it is due by February 13th, 2026)

-  Can students have a study hall or free period?  No, all students must take 6 classes every semester of high school.

All forms need to be signed by both student and parents and turned in to homeroom teachers by Friday, February 13th.
